I hope the Fall brings you its BEST! I have not gotten on here and updated you for several months, but I did complete Graston Technique (module 1) for Basic Training and it was very enlightening. I cannot advertise providing their trademark techniques unless I purchase their specific instruments, which I am not yet sure I want to invest in at this time. I do have some other tools to make the training applications and many of my clients have enjoyed them and found some relief to their individual problems. I hope to be able to assist you if the case arises.
Big business changes coming soon:
I may be moving forward with some other significant changes soon. I may be closing the publicly listed business of “Serota Massage Therapy” and move to a private business in the form of a private membership association. This would also mean “giving up” on my professional licenses as they will no longer apply. Private Membership Associations are a very old Supreme Court upheld and affirmed form of doing private business between private citizens. Don’t worry, there’s nothing funny going on. Private Associations are exempt for statutory law, and regulatory agencies, but are not from Criminal Law. But as I have said countless times, I make myself a professional. The state boards overseeing the licensing of professionals do nothing to protect Alabamians and only seem to exist to extract money for those who apply for license and contract into predatory agreements. Since the former Alabama Board of Massage Therapy has been eliminated for corruption, and a new board (already fraught with problems) has come into being… I have no existing contracts with them. The new board is also instituting numerous changes and regulations that have nothing to do with their only function in order to extract as many fines and fees from me as possible, but for things have NOTHING to DO with keeping you safer or keeping my establishment to “code.” And since I have no contract with them, this makes this an ideal time to move from public to private.
What will change? The New Association will have a different name. I will close out everything that is officially “Serota Massage Therapy” so everything may appear as though my business has permanantly closed online. But I will keep this website, and the previous addresses for a duration, but making all the necessary changes for the new setup. So you can still find me here to book. Not moving office locations. I will still be providing all the services at this time and have no plans to change that.
I will have a consent/membership contract for every “member” client. Nothing serious at all. In short, you will be consenting to receive the services you are coming to me for, and that you are not acting in favor of any regulatory agencies that are trying to generate harassment towards me or my practice. There will be no ongoing fees, dues, or obligations of any kind. You can quit your membership at any time, but you also won’t need to given that there’s no ongoing obligations.
I hope none of this intimidates you. Since the nation began, there was always a choice to do business publicly (in which corporations are ultimately owned by the US Corporation out of DC and subject to rigorous control outside of your buying power or my influence) or privately with a clear understanding between individual citizens. And my clients and their judgement has always been the only regulatory power that I am interested in serving. You have always been the deciding factor in whether my services are satisfactory or to remain coming to see me for ongoing treatment, and that’s the only standard I am concerned about.
If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask me in your next session. Serota Massage Therapy is still operating for now. I hope to have all changes made as soon as October.
