December Updates!

I hope this Holiday Season is a great one for you and your family! I have attended another couple of workshops and am happy to bring these services to those who have need of them!

I attended the most emotional workshop in my career, giving bodywork and therapy to burn survivors. This workshop covered the different types of scar tissues and how to address and provide relief for them, as well as a lot of the emotional struggles and trauma that burn survivors endure in their everyday walk through day-to-day life. I am overjoyed to now be available to this special community and hope to become part of their answer.

And back in July, I attended the Graston Technique Module 1 course. Graston Technique uses a variety of surgical grade steel instruments to apply various strokes and manipulations to bodily tissues to get them to release and bring relief and regeneration. It’s surprisingly effective even with gentle applications. If you have been on my table in the last several months, you have probably already been on the receiving end of some of these applications. And, I made the investment of purchasing their official tools, which now means that I can say that I am officially a Graston Technique Provider.

And Lastly: Serota Massage Therapy will be closing soon… and Integrative Massage & Bodywork Association will be open. Nothing substantial will change, as I will maintain this website and my current address, and I, Bernard Serota, will still be taking appointments and providing my services. But there will be a new intake form and “membership” service consent contract, and I may be changing my booking scheduler… maybe. The membership contract is purely about my clients giving consent to receive my services and will have no ongoing obligation that you will need to worry about. Details to come soon. Until then, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy New Year, and every kind of joyful Seasons Greetings that there are! HAVE THEM ALL!!

May Updates

I hope this May is finding you well. I have not uploaded or posted my March training on here with any details since having undergone the training. So here it is!

This workshop was all about gently guiding clients through bodywork techniques into locating and opening up the blocked pathways and stored trauma within the body. It can be done fully clothed. It is very similar to craniosacral work in that it’s extremely gentle. And, it’s important to note that this therapy can be done with or without discussion of said trauma. When we open up the pathways, you can explore and release on your own or you can talk through it with me. The choice is up to each client.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2024! I hope this year is a gamechanger for you in all the right ways, including the areas of health and wellness! Please consider massage and bodywork as a part of your 2024 fitness and overall health plan!

I have successfully completed another workshop since my last post. This workshop was all about understanding chronic pain, it’s causes, and techniques in unlocking it. It was very insightful and I hope to deepen my knowledge in this area further, as well as assisting my client’s needs and recovery in this rapidly growing area in modern day life. This training will not be listed as a standalone service on my service menu, but it will be incorporated when necessary during any service you may choose.

Yes, my name is misspelled. I suspect people enjoy misspelling my name since it seems to happen a lot.

This next year should be an interesting one filled with craziness, chaos, and no small amount of insanity (especially given it is an election year). You know where to find me if you want a moment of peace and to regain balance. I’ll be around.
